In Loving Memory of Dean ‘Deano’ O’Rourke, Age 32

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dean O’Rourke, affectionately known to all as ‘Deano’ or ‘Cheesey’, who left us suddenly and unexpectedly at home on 30th May 2026. A beloved son, brother, partner, father, and friend, Dean’s vibrant spirit touched countless lives.

Born on 13th July 1993, Dean was the son of the late Teeny McCann and Thomas (Tam) O’Rourke. He was a much-loved brother to Alanah, Molly, Lee, and Tammy, and was predeceased by his younger brothers Daryl and Thomas. From his early years on Wingate Street, Craigneuk, to his time in England and eventual return to Scotland, Dean’s journey was one of warmth and hard work, from milk rounds to landscaping, where he took pride in transforming outdoor spaces.

Dean’s greatest legacy is his family. A devoted father to Aidan, Lexi, Kayla, Kieran, and Erin, he found enduring love with his partner, Lauren. His life was rich with music, often creating remixes on his decks, and unwavering support for Celtic FC. His larger-than-life personality filled every room with laughter and created memories his loved ones will cherish forever.

Dean’s funeral will be held on Saturday, 20th June 2026. He will repose at his home on Pentland Road from Friday afternoon. A horse-drawn hearse will depart at 9.30am for a 10am Celebration of Life Service at Thornlie Funeral Home, followed by burial at Cambusnethan Cemetery. The family warmly invites all who knew him to wear a touch of green and join them afterwards at The Cross Keys to share stories and celebrate a life gone too soon.

Dean will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Our heartfelt condolences are with all his family and friends.
